I am working on my first project with Vegas 8 using m2ts video files from my HDR camera and a single audio track from my itunes. I get sound just fine while working on the project. After rendering and saving to the hard disk, I am unable to get any sound on windows media player. Video is just fine, in fact it’s great. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I believe I found the solution. I had initiated the Surround Sound option when dropping my video and audio tracks in. If I don’t do this and go with normal audio options, my rendering goes back to normal. I believe this is because my computer wouldn’t support the surround sound.

Try opening the rendered file in vegas and see if there’s a wave form. You can also render to track and see right away while figuring it out. Are you using the main concept mpeg-2 DVD NTSC preset? It defaults with audio but can be unchecked in the audio tab. Danny Hays

If you tried to make a surround sound video, you have to render the video out without audio. Then render the audio out seperatly as an .ac3 file. The DVD arch. will put them together when authorizing the disk. Did you pull the rendered file back into vegas and not see a waveform? Danny Hays
