Nikon has purchased RED for an undisclosed sum and plans to move into the cinema camera market.

Hey Eric,
When I went to school to learn about video, they handed me a Nikon F73 (35mm film).
It was back then the go to for press and reportage photography.I can see how RED could be having a tough time, where Blackmagic and others are eating into the bottom part of the market, and ARRI and SONY, are eating in to the high-end (Yes, I’ve missed out alot of brands on this list).
I suspect that RED will benefit from Nikon distribution and repair centres + by merging the two companies R&D together, they’ll be in with chance to compete.
