Nice simple titling plugin for Vegas Pro 10?
Hi!
I want to create simple titles in Vegas Pro 10, but internal text plugin is bad (fonts not showing up properly). They have actually fixed that in Vegas 11 by Titles & Text plugin (almost, actually it doesn’t support em dash, I already wrote to support about that), but I will go back to Vegas 10, too many bugs in 11th version. And ProTitler plugin doesn’t have outline.
Is there anything simple which supports outlining and shadow? That’s pretty much all I need.

I suppose the answer was no? I would gladly pay for such a thing if it existed. The stock Vegas Pro titler is horribly outdated, and largely unchanged since version 4. I have version 10 btw. The “Protype Titler” can do some nice simple titles, but is buggy and limited with extended text. I blame Flash more than Sony, but who knows.
You either have stuff from companies like Boris, which is great, but too costly and complicated for me. I’ve seen a couple of other similar and costly options. Prodad and the like.
Heck, if I could just enlarge the darn window big enough to be useful, that would be awesome! Throw in support for apostrophes, and you got a deal!

Thanks for writing, that made me check the thing over again. Yes, the answer is no. I do use Vegas 11 now and that’s because of the Titles and Text(in Vegas 10 it’s simply called Text) plugin. It’s somewhat better than in version 10, although still no support for dashes and window size is annoying. I have to use a short dash instead of a long one. Yes, Sony has the protype titler, but the problem for me is that it’s quite a demanding plugin and I don’t want to prolong my renderings. I just made a test, using one and the same clip and the titles, but one with ProType and the other with the Titles and Text. Guess what, Protype titler took two and half times more time to render.
Clip is 23 sec long.
Titles & Text render: 16 sec
ProType render: 40 secI want something light and fast, no extra’s needed. Of course, Sony didn’t answer my complain about it and neither did fix it in upcoming versions.
Why it’s so difficult to realize the importance of good user support? That’s one of the most important part of selling a product, otherwise who will buy it? And how it will be developed?Maybe I’m too lazy to get in contact with them? Is there a better way to do that except the complaining report form?
