Technology Will Enhance Digital Workflow for Adobe Video Collection
(SAN JOSE, Calif. – April 17, 2005) Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced that an agreement to license, develop and distribute the rotoscoping technologies of Curious Software. news of the day so far, if properly implemented (which no doubt it will be) this would at last address the weakest link in AE. It’ll be like AE and the sadly defunct Commotion rolled into one mighty app’. It’s shaping up to be an interesting couple of days. I never thought i’d say this but…. I wish I was in Las Vegas 🙂

Great news. Hopefully if they work on their tracker as well, one won’t have to leave AE at all to do roto and tracking.
Too bad they can’t grab Commotion’s tracker since it’s been rotting away at version 4.1 for the past few years.

the AE tracker is still extremely poor, particularly given the length of time they’ve had to get it right. I’ve tried doing fairly straight forward tracking work in AE recently only to give up in fustration after a lot of wasted time. Commotion (an app that hasn’t been developed for three years now) nailed them all at the first time of asking! the AE tracker simply needs to be way better than it is at the moment.
