Im setting up 3 rooms and need 4 runs per room. length of run will be approx 50′. so, i have a bunch of cable to buy. i have tried to look at past messages(refers to BL-1505A) but decided to just go ahead and ask. I need plenum rated also. thanks. Steve

    Steve:
The 1505A is excellent cable and have it through-out my facilities along with sub-miniature 1855A. Whether it is Belden or Gepco or Canare, you’ll find solid cable performance.

Is your need for plenum because you are putting it in the ceiling and is required?

Yes. I need plenum rated for a ceiling app. And code reason. Is the 1506a the plenum rated number? Can’t get much help from suppliers around here. Its like noone has pulled in cable in the area. Thanks

If you’re having trouble with your local suppliers, you might want to check with someone like Markertek. They know everything about everything!

Belden 1506A is Plenum HD-SDI video cable for runs up to 100 meters.
You will find that the Kings specified number of 2065-2-9 is specifed for both 1505A and 1506A, but as 1506A is a thinner cable, it makes a terrible crimp. I have found that ADC BNC-6 is the perfect connector for Belden 1506A.

As you can see from the Markertek website –
    https://www.markertek.com/Cables/Bulk-Wire-Cable/Bulk-Digital-Video-Cable/Belden-CDT-Inc/1506A-0101000.xhtml?BL-1506A-1000
this is REALLY EXPENSIVE because it is plenum rated.

I have personally used WestPenn equivalent plenum cable, because of the excessive costs from Belden for plenum. I don’t have the plenum part #, but the WestPenn equivalent of 1505A is WP-819 – oh, I found it – WestPenn 25819, and GEPCO VPM2000TS is the Gepco plenum equivalent.
