Newbie Vegas Basics
Hey guys,
recently purchased a Sony XR520 video camera for a trip to the USA. Managed to get 8hours of footage over there and the camera worked flawlessly!
Now home, I’m wanting to burn all the footage to DVD’s to give to my mates whom I travelled with.
I have followed instructions found on here, and have transferred all footage to my computer. I then encoded it to MPEG-2 format. It’s now where I have a few issues.
Obviously the video is way to big to fit even onto 1 dual layer dvd. Is there a way in DVDA to put the whole video into the timeline, then let DVDA split it onto seperate DVD’s? Or do I need to manually cut the video up into segments. If so, how big would each segment need to be to fit onto a dual layer DVD? The video was rendered from Sony Vegas Pro using the Mainconcept MPEG2 template that is regularly recommended on this forum. No menus etc will be used, simply just the video on each DVD.
Also, how do I set the DVD so that it burns in a format that will work on both a standard TV, as well as a widescreen LCD/Plasma. Obviously we’ll be watching the movie on a number of different TV’s, and don’t want it to look stupid on 1 TV, and different on the other.
Cheers for all the info thus far!
Daniel
