Newbie Question. My new system keeps trying to capture 12 channels of audio.
I just upgraded to FCP 5 and the new decklink driver. When I digitized some audio I noticed it came in as 2 tracks with 10 empty tracks attached to it. How do I change the capture to input 2 channels only. The Audio/Video Settings pane won’t allow me change this setting although I see it listed.

Log and Capture window. There’s green buttons to turn tracks on and off, as well as buttons to bring them in as mono or stereo pairs.

Hi Ian,
This exact question is answered in a support note named 2 channel stereo capture in Final Cut Pro HD 5.0. It’s easy once you know how 🙂

People have been pesting Apple for not
having more than 2 tracks of Audio on capture
for so long,that Apple must have decided to have 12 tracks
by default in FCP5 just to show them lol….Regards
