    HI,

I’ve Just signed up to CC to see if anyone knows of a simple way to animate a crack that runs along the ground and widens as it goes, similar to this trailer for ICE AGE, the effect I’m after is around 1:14 in.

I’ve had C4D r12 for about a year now but know only a little as I’ve been using 3D Max for the past ten years and it has been my “go to” program of choice for anything 3D however the time has come to properly learn C4D!

I would be very grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction…… the simpler the better, many thanks.

    Platform: C4D r12 Mac

I’d animate a sweep nurbs along a path, render that as an animated texture to drive a displacement. Hope that helps.

do you mean the ground level view of the crack opening ahead of the camera or the ‘space’ shot of the crack opening?
