newbie question
Hi, I am pretty new to FCPX and am having a little trouble understanding the whole save process (I know it kinda does it for you). Basically I have a big project that is on a combination of 2 hard drives. I’m just learning how to organize everything. I have backups of all the main files but if I unplug one hard drive all of that stuff disappears (which makes sense) but what if one of those hard drives failed and I needed to use the backup version of the clip? Is there a way to re-direct the missing clip to another drive without loosing the editing that has been done? Thankfully, my hard drive didn’t fail but I had a scare and want to make sure that if it ever does happen I don’t have to go back and re-edit everything.

In 10.0.3 you can finally re-link lost or deleted files. Check out this video to answer your questions:
Steve Martin and Mark Spencer’s MacBreak Studio is a great free resource. Also the UK site https://www.fcp.co is pretty good as well, I have it bookmarked.
