    Hello

i’m testing the trail version of vegas and it seems quite powerful. I have a question about effects is it possible to make:

    – Gray the whole video clip and only paint one color or one object?
    – I saw the tutorial on making a clip look like a pencil sketch (good one) however I would like to do it and leave a rectangular piece of the clip as normal. Any easy way to do that?

    thanks

To make the video monochrome except one color, apply the Secondary Color Corrector. Use the Select Effect Range eyedropper to select the color you want to keep. Then, choose Invert Mask, then lower the saturation.

You can apply any effect and leave an unaffected rectangle by putting a copy of the video above itself, apply the effect to the top video and also apply the cookie cutter to make a hole that the unaltered video will show through.

Both of these can be found in my newsletter (link below my name). You can also find an article on how to pass MULTIPLE colors. Look within the last 6 issues.
