Activity Forums VEGAS Pro Newbie color correction questions

I am producing some educational video’s about my chosen field (not video, film) So content has been more important than aesthetics.
So here are some questions that I’m sure will make you pros cringe.

1)One shot I have is of orange bar graph meters, even with the camera wide open they aren’t really bright.
I saw somewhere on this forum a plug in that could increase a certain color in the image without effecting the full image. This orange bargraph meter is a bold orange and there are no similar colors in the image. Do you know what plug in I might have seen someone else mention?

2)I have a couple close ups that were shot inside a machine. The camera had a LED light mounted that even with the tungsten filter looks more daylight. Are there any simple tricks or setting to pull a the color balance closer (less blue 5k) I looked at the sony white balance but I don’t think there is any white in the shot to use as a reference.
    3) A couple shots my had reaching in the shot gets really blown out by the light. Now I realize I have lost all detail where it’s blown out, but I wondered if there is the video equivalent of a audio limiter. A plug in that reduces the brightness of the hot spots and leaves the rest of the shot exposure ( brightness ) as is.
Yup I know it’s time to take some classes on color correction, any help in the mean time would be much appreciated.
    Thank You
    Brad

That would be the Sony Color Corrector (Secondary) also referred to as the secondary color corrector. It allows you to select an ares to be modified.

The Sony Color Corrector filter will give you control over color temp.

Sony Levels and Sony Color Curves will give you control over the luminance levels.
