I’m new to 4D – and enjoying the struggle – but am rather baffled by some of its behaviour.

I have a vehicle, the parts of which are contained in a Null Object grouping, which follows a spline path. At one point in the animation I would like an element of that vehicle to stop and expand to form a title while the rest of the vehicle continues on its way.

My attempts to do this so far result in anomalies such as the title becoming enlarged from the beginning of the animation (and not from the designated frame) or else looping from the “stop” point to the point where the vehicle comes to rest and then back again.

Can any kind person unconfuse me?!

If you want part of the car to move separately at some point I would use a constraint tag or Xpresso to tie it to the car rather than grouping. That way you can key it’s follow behavior.
