Hi guys,
so i have 100 gig worth of go pro footage i have to edit in fcp
ive converted all the footage using mpeg thats all fine.
ive set my storyline out but am having issue i want all the clips to merge into the next one
ie end of the clip the next video clip comes in…
its hard to explain but gopro studio use the transition in their story line
you put the two videos together and click the plus

That’s a dissolve.
Go to the right hand inspector screen, and find the “effects” tab; look for the “dissolve” icon. Mouse-Drag that icon over to the spot on the timeline where two clips meet, and release.

Why did you use mpeg (stream clip I assume)? There’s no need to convert the footage to prores first like ancient systems from 2009. But if you want to, just click the optimize checkbox on import. Or you can transcode after the fact in the event viewer by highlighting all or some of the media and right clicking and choosing to transcode.

thanks for the info however am using a 2009 mac so it was needed 🙁
