I installed the new Sony XDCam EX Plugin for FCPX, I’ve tried opening BPAV folders as camera archives and it doesnt work, I get the unsupported media message. Is this how it works, am I being stupid?

    I don’t think so.

You need to use the “Import camera archive” function which is similar to log and transfer

Hopefully the future update that was announced as coming this year will address MXF import.

I am having the same issues with the new Xdcam plugin.
I also tried import camera archive and it is greyed out?

I can’t seem to import either.

I have FCPX 10.0.4, which is required. I downloaded and installed both the new XDCAM Browser and the FCPX plugin on Sony’s CA site. The US site still does not have links for this SW.

The plugin states that it only works with SxS cards. I am using Sony’s approved MS Pro cards with their MS Pro adapter, not an actual SxS card/reader. I wonder if this is the issue. When I talked with the Sony rep at NAB he did mention it would not work with XDCAM discs, so maybe it also does not work with MS? In there demo they were using SxS cards.

In the new XDCAM Browser, I selected a clip off the MS Pro card and was able to send it to FCPX. Which I don’t think I could do before. Right?

I didn’t see any release notes on the CA site for the plugin. Did I miss them?
