    Ya i want to go with Hp’s Z4 Or Dell’s Precision Tower 5820

    my main question is this does more L3 cache means lot in premiere pro than more core counts and more clock speed.?

    and also i create z4 specs and also with dell 5820 same configurations mentioned above

    tell me is it is so powerful to handle 4k work in premiere pro and after effects.

    I noticed that you’ve posted the same query on the Adobe Hardware forum which I think is very wise. However, it also appears that you’re ignoring the advice that Bill Gehrke gave you. If I was putting together a new system I would absolutely follow his recommendations.

    Here’s Bill’s general advice for building a new system:

    Do not go with off the shelf big name configurations, go to custom video editing builders like Puget. Safe Harbor or ADK they will ask you many questions about your media and workflow and deliver a real optimized video editing system that will do much better than any off the shelf.

    Xeon’s are a architecture of the past.
    Unless you have a very expensive 10-bit monitor a Quadro card is overkill.
    Do not waste a super speed M.2 PCIe x4 SSD on the boot drive. Use only for Projects and Media. Use a standard SATA III SSD for the OS/Applications.
    Never use RAID 5 if you are dealing with high sequential rates like video streams
    RAID is a thing of the past for performance, it is good for high reliability back up and archiving.

    The cache is really a non issue so don’t worry about it. Having said that the cache is very very important. Maybe the most important part of the CPU.

    Are you confused yet?

    There was a time when cache worked like RAM slot. If you went form a 16K cache to a 32K cache you would not see a huge jump in performance but there would be some benefits. Keep in mind the cache ran at the bus speed of the motherboard.

    The Pentium II put the cache on a separate PCB/daughter card that the Pentium II was connected to. This really helped performance since the cache ran at half the speed of the CPU instead of the bus speed of the motherboard.

    Later the cache was put on the CPU die. Once again huge boost in performance. They could use a smaller amount of L1 and L2 cache with the on die method and get better performance than the CPUs with larger amounts of cache on the PCB/daughter card. The way the cache is implemented has a very big impact on performance but the amount of cache does not. The cache helps out but doubling the amount of cache will not double the performance. At best you might see a 5% increase in performance. The CPU vendors now the correct amount of cache to add to get good performance without sacrificing to much of the CPU die real estate. Without any cache your CPU would be a lot slower.

    Using an M.2 x4 for your Projects and Media would only work if you never need to have more than 1.5 TB of usable space for all of your concurrent live projects and their media. I imagine M.2 x4 would also be a great dedicated Ae cache drive (probably want to periodically reformat, and may be a wear item burner (see last paragraph).

    RAID 5 is great for storing large amounts of data, with parity for data redundancy, as well as high sustained data rates. A 6 drive RAID-5 can provide in the dozens of TB and sustained read and write speeds of ~1GB/s. An 8 drive RAID-6 can do the same and provide even more safety with the ability to hot swap 2 drives without data loss. Sure, you should always have an off-site archive of your work, but RAID-5/6/10/50/60 provide a great solution for allowing you to work with large projects locally and not have any downtime in the event of a drive failure.

    Besides, solid state still isn’t a great solution for long term life span in applications where tons of i/o operations are constantly being written.
