New version coming April 13th
Posted by Chris Frantz on March 26, 2015 at 4:39 pmPer FCPXGrill & fcpxworks:
“Apple Product Marketing will be giving an update on Final Cut Pro X — more details to come.”
“…We’ll have a special emphasis on large-scale multi-user installations of X. If you’re a facility supervisor in the broadcast, feature film or educational institution, this will be the place to learn more.”

March 26, 2015 at 5:12 pmBy update they mean an update on the latest and greatest information, not the actual product.

March 26, 2015 at 5:39 pmThe quotes you pulled Chris are out of context and a bit misleading, IMO.
FCPWorks will have it’s own suite at NAB and in that suite FCPWorks will be talking about things like using FCP X in a large-scale, multi-user environment. Some Apple PR people will also be there to talk about X. Nothing earth shattering, IMO, though it’s probably the place to be at NAB if you want to learn more about X.

That’s not necessarily the impression I got when I listened to the most recent episode of FCPXGrill, although I could have misheard it. Link for reference.

March 26, 2015 at 7:30 pmJust to clear a couple things up… I have no idea what Apple will be presenting… and please, if you listen to what I said on the grill, don’t read any tea leaves. As I said there, you should keep your expectations low, and all I really know is what’s listed on our site… here’s a link to it:

See you guys in Vegas!

March 26, 2015 at 8:04 pmFWIW, (and I know this sounds like BS but…) I have a friend in the biz who has a contact at Apple. What he said was that Apple would be making a significant announcement re: FCPX around NAB.
I have absolutely no details and no way to confirm. Completely unsubstantiated. But: it made my heart leap a little and if Apple is coming out with enhancements for X, announcing them right around NAB certainly makes sense.
I know that if they don’t, a lot of folks will be very disappointed.
We shall see.

March 27, 2015 at 1:20 amBack in the old days, we had a big demagnetizer we’d pass over the monitor to take out all the bad colors.
Maybe……. 😉 Demagnetrackitizer?
[yeah, it was called a degausser, but whatever 🙂 ]

Then we can “rinse and repeat” 😉 -

March 27, 2015 at 5:51 pmI’ll admit I looked to see if the 13th of April was a FRIDAY.
Instead, I’m certain it’s coming on April 1. Just for us fools.
d’oh.
