While you are waiting for the camera to come in start looking online for Scene File settings. Abel Cine has some, plus there are others out there. They will really show you the range of what the AF100 can do. Use these as starting points then customize from there.

The first day I had mine I took it out and just started shooting with the stock Scene Files, it looked great and it only got better.

Also, don’t panic when you switch lenses and the AF100 comes up black. Using the adapter and some lens mounts don’t make solid contact the first time. If this happens, undock the lens and reattach. You’ll hear the camera respond and then you’ll have picture and iris control.

I downloaded the .zip file for the ABEL CINE presets and was curious what the process I use to load it onto the camera. The ZIP file has a bunch of files and subdirectories ultimately having two text files in it with settings. Do I copy those onto the card with a USB cord connecting the camera to my PC? My understanding from what I have read is that with a new card it will format? How do I use the file to upload settings. Any I have not found this information in the manual yet.

Come to think of it, I’ve never loaded any from a card. I usually just follow their recipe of settings and make all the changes in the camera myself. Once I’ve played with them and tweaked a few I then saved it all to a card for a backup. I did print a small list of the scene files I have loaded and taped it to the backside of the LCD for quick reference.

Does the Adaptimax have electronic control? I didn’t think it does. You may instead want to look towards the Metabones adapter.

But yes, this is a fantastic camera. Consider pairing it with the Blackmagic Hyperdeck Shuttle for a really formidable rig.

I replaced the starter on my Ford today and set the interval recording to a frame every 2 minutes to try out the feature. It was a messy job and fun to watch from a car length away. I need to find me something compelling to shoot.

And too answer the question, the adaptimax does not have the features of camera lens controls of any kind. I have had to do the manual settings with the three Canon lenses I own. I just have to remember to take them out of automatic camera controlled mode to make the handling easy. I need to figure the white balance experimentation next time I shoot, and try my warm and white balance card set on it to see how things turn out.
