  • New to Mac & FCS2 – Help with Compressor

Hi – here is my situation. I am an Adobe guy but wanted to try a MAC and FCP so I bought a used G5 online loaded with FCS2 but without disks which I knew and accepted the risk.

Everything works well expect Compressor will not load. I attempted to register the software with Mac and it seems to have taken as it shows the license number.

I need to reload Compressor somehow as all troubleshooting has failed. Can’t upgrade to FCS3 as the G5 isn’t an Intel.

    Questions:

    1. Can I borrow disks from someone – reload just compressor and use the registration code FCS shows?

    2. Or do I need to buy an unregistered copy of FCS2 and load it fresh? Since I can’t upgrade to FCS3 on this machine – I could just get an academic version.

    3. Are there any other options?

    Thanks for any advice.

Great suggestions – thanks. I’ll give them a try. If no luck, I’ll buy the software and reinstall.
