New to FCP. Any good tutorials ?
Posted by Mrvideodep on August 29, 2005 at 12:59 amI am purchasing my first Mac to create Video Settlement Brochures. I am purchasing a G5 w/ dual 2.7s, Final Cut Pro Studio and Photo ship suite.
Is anyone familiar with a good software product to learn FCP, Motion and Photo shop.
My goal is to take video clips, documents, and photo’s and create short movies.
I am pc literate, but have never used a MAC before.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,
Lee

August 29, 2005 at 2:55 amMr Videodep,
Welcome to the world of Final Cut Pro.
If the material included within the software isn’t enough for you, I can suggest a book by Diana Weynand called “Final Cut Pro 5”. It’s from Peachpit press and it’s part of the Apple Pro Training series. Very well laid out… includes a DVD of practice material, projects, etc. Give it a look.

August 29, 2005 at 11:28 amTo get started right now, there are lots of tutorials at the “DV Guys” site.
They are for earlier versions of FCP, but the basics are good and they are easy to follow

August 29, 2005 at 1:15 pmJerry Hofmann on Final Cut Pro 4. Excellent book where you will cut a project along with Jerry and he’s pretty much the master instructor when it comes to FCP.
It will run just fine with FCP 5.

August 31, 2005 at 6:08 pmMartin Sitter from macprovideo has a very good videotutorial you can buy from his site. I learned quit a few new things from the first 2 videos it is a series of 4 videos. Martin has done the Logic Pro 6 and 7 certification book for apple as well as being co author on DVD studio Pro 3 and 4. I will be buying the latter then they releases it. The Final Cut Quick Pro Guide for Final Cut 5 is a great book to look up things you want to do but do not remember how to do.
