    Hi All,

I am very new to PPCS5 but not new to Adobe as I use AE, I have 2 questions:

Are there any tutorials to make the transition easier?

I have a mac pro 8core with an ATI 5700 10gb memory but PP struggles to play XDCAM EX footage with a transition on it.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks

    Paolo

If you want to get heavy into Premiere, I suggest investing in an approved Nvidia card as using hardware acceleration is where PPro shines. If you have Yellow render indicators, it still might be worth prerendering in the timeline by going to Sequence > Render Entire Work Area.

Alternately, under the program monitor (the monitor that controls timeline playback) there will be an icon of three circles, click this and change your playback resolution to 1/2 (the other choices will be grayed out, they’re really meant more for 2k and 4k footage, don’t freak out).

Watching these videos will give you some “ohhhhhhhhhh, that’s how I…” moments.

    Thank you so much!

I wanna be able to use both in this ever changing business. Lot of people are switching to PP due to many features and especially for its ability to work with DSLR footage natively.

    Thanks again for your help!!
