I’m new to After Effects and I’m following along with the Lynda.com training videos. Why is it that when I change a numeric value on a layer in the Transform section, I’m not able to see the change realtime? For example, as I scrub the scale of a layer from 100% to 50%, I would expect to see the layer get smaller in the Comp window. But it remains 100% scale until I release the mouse, then I see it reduced in size. This issue exists for any numerical value that can be altered. Is this an issue with AE or my computer. I installed the latest version of CS5, I’m running an Intel Mac 2×2.66 GHz Dual-Core Xeon with 6 GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM.

make sure “Live Update” is checked ON.
(to the far right of your timeline window there is a drop down menu for this)

    enjoy AE!
