New system Firewire problem
I have a new system fresh from the dealer. Software installed by them. All latest versions of FC Studio, Quicktime, and Tiger. Has Kona LHe with latest version of drivers. I’m assuming no upgrades, all fresh installs. I checked the Libraries and found only the 704 version of the QT packages. No V6 packages there. Here’s the problem. Easy setup DV NTSC Firewire Basic (as spec in the qualified devices list). With a Canon ZR60 feeding via Firewire, I get no video through log and capture. I have device control. When I try capture now, it errors out, saying, “operation canceled, no video was found,” or something close to that. I DO get video going OUT to the ZR60 from the timeline. I tried capturing to iMovie with the same camera and cable and that worked fine. Both in and out. AND, I also hooked up a DVD Recorder via Firewire and (with device control off) was able to get video in from that. Maybe the camcorder’s FW output is broken, but it works OK in iMovie and Premiere on another system. Any ideas? Thanks.
PS-I’m not at the workstation right now, but I think the Tiger version is the latest available. It was all installed by B&H Photo Video and latest versions done.
