New StoneSour video – Backward Counter
Hi,
I just had a look on the new StoneSour video, here it is: https://www.roadrun.com/shared/downloads/StoneSour/stonesour_3030150_300.mov
I think I could recreate the complete video in AE using my own keyed footage, but one thing keeps me busy: the counter.
How can I create this kind of counter, which goes from a starting value (like 300 seconds) and counts backwards also with the millisecond-numbers….?
Tried searching for “counter” or “numbers” etc. but all I got was some expressions (and I don’t know anything about expressions, forgive me!).Thank you

You can create all manner of counters and timers with the Text > Time tool. You might have to make multiple layers, but you can have all manner of time count up, down, etc….

The key concept is applying two copies of cylinder, one that renders the inside only, one that renders the outside, and stacking them on either side of the interior video.
But, sheesh, my age is really showing. That was remarkably bad and unimaginative music, utterly unoriginal in every possible way. Doesn’t anyone create any more?
