New Rig DVDA Issue

Hi All,
Been using SVP since version 4 and version 10 with DVDA 5.2 for the past few years.
Recently upgraded to new computer and SVP version 13 and DVDA ver. 6.
Editing on SVP 13 has been fine, but trying to burn a “menu based” DVD on DVDA 6 has been impossible. Everything goes fine until it reaches 66% then I get this message:
“Write Error Occurred. The Disk may be dirty or corrupted.”
The “single movie” mode in DVDA works fine, and I can burn menu based disks with other software, I have even copied the MPEG2 file from the new computer to the old computer and burned the “menu based” disk in DVDA 5.2.
I just reinstalled DVDA 6 on the new machine with the same old result. Getting a little frustrated.
Ideas?

Hard to say, Could be a corrupt installation. Download the latest version
of DVD Architect 6 from the Sony website and do a fresh install.

Go back to using DVDA 5.2
6.0 didn’t really add anything worthwhile so I stuck with 5.2 and don’t have any problems.

Well then, i also recommend going back to version 5.2 also, since
there is no solution forthcoming. Version 6 really offers no
advantage over 5.2

Hey Jerry not sure if this helps, but I ran into a similar issues a couple of years ago. You can view the old thread that describes the issues here:

Below is what I wrote then that seemed to solve my issues:
SUCCESS!!! Perhaps this will help someone if they run into a similar problem. I went back and rendered each scene individually with the “Main Concept MPEG-2 / Template: BluRay 1920x1080i 24p/25mbps” template. All scenes rendered successfully. However, the master veg file would still not render.

I then went in and looked at each scene’s “Properties” and noted that not all scenes were consistent. Some were using the HD 1080-24p others were using a template that had 29.970 FPS. Further I had different “Pixel Formats (some at “8 bit” other scenes at “32-bit floating point full range”).

Once I made all scenes consistent (“Main Concept MPEG-2 / Template: BluRay 1920x1080i 24p/25mbps” And “32-bit floating point full range”) I was able to render with success……

Good learning experience…

I have had NO success burning anything with DVDA. I use either Imgburn or my old copy of Nero 9. Works as advertised plus burns across multiple recorders. I avoided updating Nero to 10 and upwards because of all the bloatware that gets installed with it.

My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 12 (x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6
