Hi Luke and all you guys at BMD.

Have you tested/sertified your cards (in our case DeckLink HD) for the new PowerMac Quad – Dual 2.5 GHz G5 dual core?

BTW- Thanks for great support on this forum.

    I can’t speak for Blackmagic’s plans, but..
PCI-X cards (like the current Decklink HD for G5) physically don’t fit into the PCI-express slots on the new Powermac G5s.

    Hi Jonas,

The PCIe (PCI Express) slots in the new G5’s require PCIe cards. PCIe is not backward-compatible with PCI and PCI-X and so the DeckLink HD card will not physically fit in the new PCIe slot.

We recently released the DeckLink Extreme PCIe card and we’ve been testing it with the new PCIe Macs.

The DeckLink 5.1.1 software on our web site supports the DeckLink Extreme PCIe card in the new PCIe G5’s.
