    Hi.

I had a question regarding running Premiere Pro CS4 and a new PC I am looking at getting. I am on a limited budget and am more interested in a pre-built system and need it pretty fast.

My current system is choking in Premiere. Everything else runs fine but I can’t even play SD footage in Premiere.

Here is a link to the PC specs:
    https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883107989

It is an HP and has most of the things I need but I was curious what others thought if this will get it done.

I will be editing mostly 720/24P footage from a Panasonic P2 since this is what the guy I get most of my freelance shoots on. Anything else would probably be SD. I also don’t need Blue Ray.

    Thoughts, suggestions. Thanks.

Gotta love those cable runs, looks like they just throw the stuff in there and run -:)

We don’t know anything about the motherboard and this is usually where the money is saved, that and RAM…

You’ll have 1×4 and 1 x16 slot available, although they may be shared with the 1st x16.

I would say it seems like a very nice system for the price, and you should be able to handle your HD projects without problems.

What you’ll need. 2 more hard drives, preferably a RAID system, and probably a better sound card.

Just 3 weeks ago, I had the same problem you are having. I upgraded to CS4, and my system choked. I too have limited funds, but I make my living with my system, so I really need it to work.

The specs of the system you are considering sure looks like it will work without problems, but I needed to know for sure. I spent about twice the price, and my system is rock solid, flawless, editing 1080 footage. It had 2tb raid video storage. I purchased from https://www.sharbor.com (a national company, but only about 10 miles from me so I had no shipping charges). Yes, more expensive, but they work and you have support.

    Thanks guys.

Just as an FYI when I got the CS4 Suite I also bought a 2 TB Graid3 so I already ahve the extra storage. That was actually another issue I had with my old sytem though as well. It has no firewire or eSata ports so I was having to use a USB 2.0.

I decided to go with the HP.

    Appreciate the input.
