New PC question
Will the new computers, such as the HP Media Center types with the analog input jacks, digitize analog signals for use with Vegas? I am trying to bypass using an external a/d converter and connect my camera via s-video connector directly to the computer. Thanks.

Generally speaking, the jacks built into computers will NOT do the same job as your external box. While they will let you capture, it won’t be with the same quality.

You can get an internal card from Canopus that will do the same job as your external A/D box…but it wouldn’t gain you any quality, just a slightly neater desktop
