  New Panasonic Pro Plasmas

  A few months back I was researching Panasonic Pro Plasmas for external monitoring. Ideally we’d get a proper broadcast monitor (like a Flanders), of course, but our budget is not quite ready for that yet. I figured we’d get the pro plasma and have a pro calibrate it to get “close enough.”

  At the time, I saw that the TH-42PF20U or the TH-42PH11UK came highly recommended. But now, both are discontinued. It seems the TH-42PF30U has replaced it. Does anyone have any thoughts on or experience with the newer model?

  As I said, we are using a Decklink HD Extreme in an 8-core Mac Pro. We are not doing anything for broadcast television at the moment, but we are working on film projects. We also do projects for Web and DVD.
