New member… Alpha question.
I’m new to Creative Cow… and although I’ve edited news on Avid for many years… have yet to learn many of the more advanced… yet useful tools within the program for advertisements etc…
I’m trying to create a blurred drop shadow on an actor filmed in front of a blue screen… I’ve applied a chroma key to eliminate the screen, but every time I try to create a shadow… it defaults to the entire frame. Is there an easy way to create a shadow behind the subject that I’m overlooking???

Welcome! There’s plenty of grass to go around! (Ohh, that didn’t sound right did it?)
What version software are you using? What OS, how much RAM, video card etc.? Are you trying to key in Avid, or are you using a plug / 3d party app?

I’m running Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, 2.8 GHz Processor, 1.5Gb RAM, AVID Media Composer Version 12.0.9. I’m creating the key within Avid using the Key – Chroma Key. The key works well… but not sure where to go from there.
