October 24, 2006 at 8:58 pmOf course, I just bought a new iMac yesterday as a stopgap for waiting for the new MBP. About the same spec, just a might slower at 2 GHz dual core but no FW 800. Ah well. Pretty tidy little rig for the new apartment. 😉

Going for the 2.33 spec 15″ with 2Gb of Ram – nice touch from Apple. Unfortunately if you want to up it to 3GB (the max due to intel architecture – as it is with the imac) you need to buy a 2GB stick – at $679 from OWC. Ouch. I think 2GB should do me fine for now – after all it’s only a laptop! (Flame me now).

October 25, 2006 at 6:28 pmYep I’ve been hanging on for the rev B MBP and put an order in today. Was very happy to see the 200GB HD option, now I’ll be able to install ALL of Final Cut Studio AND get rid of the PC I use for accounts. Looking forward to that extra power from a lowly G4 PB 1.67GHz…
