    Hi, fellows.

I have been using an iMac for video editing purpose for a while.

    Specs↓
    Model : iMac11,2
    Processor : 3.2GHz Intel Core i3
    Memory : 8GB 1444 MHz DDDR3
    OS : 10.6.8

Editing Software : Usually Final Cut 7 (and rarely AE)

I ‘m thinking of upgrading this computer for better performance purpose,
    especially for rendering and exporting.

I heard Final Cut Pro 7 uses 32bit system
so I wouldn’t necessarily need a brand new (black) Mac Pro
However, I also hear the brand new Mac Pro is worth having
when considering future software development for all those editing software like
    premiere, avid etc.

What do you think I should do?
What kind of setup do you folks have?

    Any input would be appreciated.

    Cheers!

Forget FCP7, it’s dead and done. Although it was probably one of the best video editing software, Apple gave up on it and FCPX is a major disappointment. But do try it.

I recomend Premiere or Avid for a professional Video Editing, depends on what your aiming at
