July 27, 2010 at 12:10 pmCan’t work either… Final Cut is Media Managing a 60min deliverable to the client’s USB 2.0 drive. Really wish they would just get something with an eSata or 800 lead!

July 27, 2010 at 12:25 pmActually, that’s something I’ve started making them do. They are charged by the hour. I don’t care whether it’s copying to a crappy USB or doing it in a snap. My time, my money. 🙂
Rumors has it that the store will be up in 5 minutes.

July 27, 2010 at 12:56 pm12 cores. Nothing that fun then.
No nVidia card atm. ATI Radeon HD 5770. No good for us DaVinci people.
Ports are the same.
Only four PCI slots.
A MASSIVE thumbs down from me.

July 27, 2010 at 1:02 pmYou sound equally disappointed.
Looks like we’ll just buy 3 EOL 2009 Mac Pros instead as we’ll probably get a better deal. GPUs are great for Apple Color, but I could have really done with anything new and nVidia for DaVinci.
Poor form once again for the Apple Pro market.
Should just bite the bullet and get an iPad.

July 27, 2010 at 1:14 pmI’m thinking the same. Will certainly look for a second hand 2009 model.

July 27, 2010 at 1:25 pmJamie,
What are your views regarding no nVidia GPUs?
We’ve been speaking to Tim over at your place regarding quotes for a few more machines and some Avid bits and pieces for our new floor. He said you guys would be popping into the big city soon and would pay use a visit! Looking forward to it!
Any chance of another DaVinci demo whilst you’re in town!?! Went to the one at Sound London but didn’t get much time to play.
Cheers,

July 27, 2010 at 1:59 pmWell, we’re in constant conversation with NVidia about stuff like this and have as yet heard nothing, but I’d expect EVGA to get the 480 or 460 drivers out by the end of Q3.
Don’t expect these Macs anytime soon by the way…few months at least
