  • New LUT option in 10.1.2 disappears

FCPX 10.1.2 has added a LUT option to apply to clips. I’m shooting with a Canon C100. When I don’t shoot in C-log the option appears and I can add it to a clip. I shot some footage in C-log and the LUT option disappears! It only happens to footage shot in Log and no, it doesn’t automatically add a LUT to the footage.

When you don’t need it it’s there and when you do need it it’s gone. Anyone have any ideas/similar issues?

Are the clips in the timeline or the browser? As the LUT is a universal setting, meaning, once it’s on for the clip, it’s on for every instance of the clip everywhere, you should turn it on and off in the Browser.

Fwiw, I like the Lut Utility from Grading Central. It allows different LUTs, it allows a percentage based slider to apply a lot of LUT or a little LUT, and you can apply it clip by clip. Quality and performance are also outstanding.
