New Lens Flare Tutorial
My first Motion 5 tutorial demonstrates a simple method for building a basic lens flare effect entirely in Motion 5.

It’s not intended for photo-realistic effects but with a little work, it can produce attractive results.
Part 2 will hopefully not be too far away.

Adding the Lens Flare Generator and a replicator. The whole flare assembly is animated using a single controller.
Some steps could be simplified by duplicating layers or copying links then simply changing parameters.
I used the flare built in the tutorial to create the final transition by exporting a short Pro-Res file then importing into the composite project (also done in Motion 5) and adding a blend mode.
There’s plenty more that can be done to this to make it more interactive and adaptable.
