I see that the Kona 2 is not on the website anymore. Is the Kona Lhe the only HD option for PCI-X G5 users?

it’s still there on the top of the page. It’s a link that says “Click here for Kona 2 information.”

You can still purchase the K2 card.

Is there going to be a trade up offer to the K3 for current K2 users?

    – Is there going to be a trade up offer to the K3 for current K2 users?

    – Is it compatible with APPLE POWERMAC G5 Dual 2.7 ?

[Designer] “- Is it compatible with APPLE POWERMAC G5 Dual 2.7 ?”

No, you need the Kona 2 for that. Kona 3 is PCI Express only. If you own a Dual 2.7 there’s no reason for you to purchase a Kona 3, it’s essentially the same card, but supporting the new PCIe machines.

Walter – In addition to the new keying features, doesn’t the new card add hardware support for additional HD formats?

    Hi Walter:

…it’s essentially the same card, but supporting the new PCIe machines…

Not entirely true according to the AJA press release quote below:

…Offering 40% more processing power than the industry-leading KONA 2…

Not sure how much of this is hype but there must be at least a grain of truth to it?
