December 22, 2015 at 9:51 pmFXP = Final Ten Pro. Uh, nope. Also to be confused with FX, as in Effects or FX Factory.

December 23, 2015 at 7:58 amI mistyped it that way and thought it was funny.
Then I thought it would be less graphically cluttered like the use or X itself.
And I really doubt they’ll be a FCP XI. too graphically cluttered
On the other hand it all began with:
“Final Cut Pro X version 10.0.1”
FCP X (the brand) started with version 10.
Apple heads will say it was derived from OS X, but there was an OS 9.
OS 10 lacked graphical symmetry thus OS X.
The shame of it was that FCP 8 would also have had perfect symmetry.

How about dropping the X and just calling FCPX FCP. That way we can piss off a few editors even more, and elongate the “debate” for another couple of years. Plus, there is the added benefit of completely confusing everyone as well.
Though to be honest, I’ve already started dropping the X among colleagues that are using FCPX anyway.
