Hi, first post on this forum.
I’m using for first time PP CS5 to convert some .m2t files to Prores and I have a lot of doubts.
I’m working on MBP Intel i7.
    – Shall I boost in 64b?

I’m converting Interlaced stuff and I want it progressive.
    – is necessary to apply a de-interlacing filter, or will PP deinterlace if the export setting is Progressive?

The .m2t files are stereo but I wan’t to mono channels output.
    – Is enough setting Mono in the Audio export setting?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hey Rafael,

Your late, where ya bin?? 😉

Are you looking to convert BEFORE you edit?

B/c you don’t need to with APP.

Import your clips, drop one on the “make a sequence to match” icon on the bottom of the browser/project.

When the edit is done, export and send to Queue AME,

    THERE, you can make progressive.

With the audio, select the audio in the browser and “right” click “cntrl” and choose options/properties and there you can change the audio

CS6 is a big improvement BTW.

    Hi Chris,
Was time to show up here 🙂
I’m converting because i have to edit in Final Cut (I can’t try yet in PP) and I’ve been handed a bunch of “m2t” (I’ve tried ClipWrap, but most of them I get “Error parsing file).
I tried batch export through “Media Encoder”, but runs like 10 folds slower than PP. Don’t know why.
    Lot to learn.
    Just one question:
    Should I start in 64b?
    Thanks for the help.

I don’t have much to say on the 32bit and the 64bit thing.
64 is better if software and machine are up for it, so I choose YES.
