I installed a new external hard drive, copied media files over, opened a Pr CC project, relinked to the media on the new drive, the project opens fine, and then went to change the Project Settings for Media and for Autosave.

I select custom, do a search, select the folder on the new drive, and get the following error message:

“You don’t appear to have access to this directory. Please choose another directory.”

Same issue with selecting a location for Autosave. I can’t actually read what the Autosave is set to because only part of the path shows in the window.

Any ideas what this is about or how to save my preferences to link to my new drive?

    Thanks,

    Robert

Forgot to mention, Apple Info shows I have Read & Write access for the new drive, and so does my “staff.” I can’t change “everyone” to Read & and Write cause I get an “unexpected error.” Must call Apple to check on this.

    Weirdly, today the problem disappeared.
In the Apple Info window I was able to set “everyone” to Read & Write with no error issues. (Admin and “staff” were already set to Read & Write.)
In Premiere, no error message, and I could set the Project Scratch disks.
IT folks always say, “Restart your machine.” I’d add, Restart a few times, Eject Disks and Relink a few times, and Wait a Day.

    Thanks
