NEW FCPX Drop Shadow & Border Effect V2
Now (especially for Nick Toth!) with additional controls for:
– rounded corners (if source is full screen*);
– rotation X,Y,Z (twirl open for full controls, as mostly you want want the default of Z);* This effect will of course give you a drop shadow from an image with embedded alpha such as a logo, but the border and roundness controls won’t work.

If you want more control over the “mask” then try using my very adaptable Adjustable Frame Effect, which however has fewer controls for drop shadow currently.

Note that I have now updated my Adjustable Frame Effect (V2) with full drop shadow controls (and other goodies as well).
