New Emitter Library Release Schedule
As many of you know, we’ve been releasing free emitter libraries for particleIllusion every month for the past several years. We will be continuing these periodic releases, providing all users of particleIllusion with fresh ideas and an ever-growing collection of presets, but we are reducing the frequency of library releases; you can expect a new high-quality emitter library roughly every quarter in 2012.

Well, I’ll just say Thank you for the amazing effort you and the lads have put in over those years, Alan.
Even once every three months, the wonderful Emitter libraries from your team will continue to be very much appreciated.

I second Kurt’s comment of appreciation.
I also believe in the quality vs. quantity principle — I’ve noticed that the more recent libraries have contained some rather layered/sophisticated emitters/particles that must take more time and fine-tuning than perhaps the ones from years ago.
As with everyone, I have certain effects that I prefer and resonate to more than others as my own core library. And so there are so many that I will probably never actually use (but being kind of a digital pack-rat, the “Well, it may come in handy some day…” makes me keep 99.99 of them).
In short as I’ve stated before, we’ve been gratefully spoiled for years. It seems absolutely fair and reasonable to not have to continue the monthly rhythm and switch to quarterly.
I’m still going to feel like a kid when they are released…

What happened to the new library being released?

I keep pecking away at it every day, but preparation for NAB is cutting into the available time. I’ve finalized the library yesterday, so just need to upload and update the website files. It’s going to happen sometime in the next 6 hours. 🙂
