I updated my box with the new driver (V2.0). Thought that the addition of the analogue audio button (allowing the choice between -18dBu and -24dBu) would solve my problems of the output being 6dBu too high. The switch doesn’t appear to do anything. I have a -18dB test tone generator going in to the box and a set of PPM’s on the output. Not a thing seems to happen however i switch the software for the IO. I had a thread going a few weeks ago outlining this audio level problem. I have now wired all my players through my mixer, aligned all the faders so that I have -18 into the desk, into the Aja, plays -18dB in FCP – all is great (my PPM’s read correct), until I monitor the output of the IO (ie. my edit!). How can I do an edit using PPM’s without having to loop the output of the AJA box through the desk and back out again (introducing even more noise). I just want the level that appears to be coming out of FCP to come out of the box straight into the VCR. Am I doing something wrong with the switch? Does it work?
