January 10, 2009 at 3:46 pmIf JMR doesn’t get these issues fixed by Feb 1, I will “trash” them, but for now, I believe that they will get everything working perfectly. They seem like a great company.
The concept is fantastic, and I have seen this product work in the past. You can daisy chain the 888 box up to 128 drives – thats 16 boxes per SAS/SATA port – that is A LOT of storage. JMR is using the Vitesse SAS/SATA expander chip set, and I am very excited for all the little details to get worked out. The other companies you see advertised here will have to adapt to this type of storage box (that can be expanded) in the near future, or they will die off. Everyone eventually wants to expand their storage, and right now, the only way to do it is with a PCIexpress buss expansion product, which costs money. The very fact that the SAS/SATA port expander be built into the chassis is revolutionary, and SO SIMPLE. I am confident that JMR will get all the bugs worked out in a few days, and then I will sing it’s praises.

January 13, 2009 at 1:22 amIt’s Jan 13th, and JMR has resolved the issues. Yes, this is an amazing SAS/SATA storage chassis, and it’s “the next thing” in storage, and I am sure that everyone else will follow. After all, who wants a dead end solution.
