Hey you users of the new control panel that lets io convert from analog to serial digital as a stand alone device-

I’d like to use it in conjunction with K2 to get betacam into that card. My question: does it have the 1 frame delay that many external converters have?

While i’m asking… is anyone using this setup to take advantage of K2’s real time HD upconvert?

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Hi-

Yes, there is a 1-frame delay when going through the Io in it’s Control Panel stand-alone frame-sync mode. There is a simple setting in FCP when using with the Kona 2 to digitze from the SDI signal coming from the Io:

    – go to “Audio/Video Settings” in Final Cut Pro HD pulldown

    – choose “Device Control Preset” tab

    – click “edit” to modify the device control parameters of the Easy Set-up you are using

    – need to reduce the Capture Offset by -1. For example, the Sony default is -3, so you would simply make it -4.

Now you have a frame-accurate preset, taking into account the delay form the external conversion.

Call us if you have any questions! (530) 274-2048.

    Thank you,

I want to personally thank you for posting here. It’s nice to have an AJA presence on the board. Very few companies do this.
