new computer, installed CS4, AE missing all Effects
That pretty much says it… I put together a new(er) computer, (Win-7 Pro), removed my license from the old machine (using the Adobe application, while online – which went well), installed CS4 Production Premium & license on the new machine, been using PPro for weeks (works perfect), but just tried AE, and there are NO effects available… everything is greyed-out.

Install path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CS4\Support FilesOnly oddity in the process was that I had to download the full install media, as I have misplaced the original disc set and its cardboard folder/carrier 🙁 (but fortunately still had my license)
There were no warnings or other ‘issues’ during the install… just lots of time to download it. (not too bad though, my Comcast now runs at around 32Mbps – but Adobe server couldn’t feed me that fast)
Un-install and re-install?

Well, it turns out it was user error… of course.
At work, I use CS6, which does many things different (or at least better). I haven’t used AE CS4 at home for probably a year.
Got it figured out…
Had to add a solid (or something) to the comp before I could add an effect to it… duh!
