So, here at work i was given one of the new mac pros to get trained with cinema, so for the moment i’m studying with GSG tutorials and some lynda stuff.
However, I am quickly finding the limits of the machine, even doing fairly simple stuff. For example: I just did this gsg tutorial, and the cloner object, sans textures, sets me to box viewing mode the second i start the dynamics simulation. The computer also slows to a crawl.
Since i’ll be asked to work in HD here, i’m more than fairly worried.
The computer is a 3.5GHz 6core intel Xeon E5, running 16gb of 1867mhz DDR ram. The graphics card is a AMD FirePro D500 3072 MB.
I’m running the R16 version of cinema.
So, are there toggles in the settings to speed things up? Or is the rig just not up to the task? Thanks in advance!
