    Howdy,

I’ve just released my new plugin called CD FBX Import/Export:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nX2k81T1eaQ

This plugin gives characters rigged and animated with CD Character Rigging plugins import and export support through FBX. Although the plugin only supports importing and exporting characters rigged with CD Joints, CD Skin and CD Morph, it does also support importing and exporting other scene elements such as cameras, lights, geometry, materials, etc. The plugin does include Runtime versions of CD Joints, CD Skin and CD Morph, so that characters can still be imported into Cinema 4D if the other CD Character Rigging plugins are not installed. This also allows rigged characters that have been loaded and animated using CD Character Rigging plugins’ in the Runtime mode to be exported to FBX. Version 1.0 of this plugin was built with FBX SDK 2010.2 on Mac and FBX SDK 2010.0.2 on Windows.

    Supported export elements:
    • CD Joints
    • CD Skin
    • CD Morph
    • Polygonal geometry (including primitive & NURBS conversion)
    • Cameras
    • Lights
    • Materials & UVs (automatically embeds textures)
    • Phong breaks converted to smoothing data
    • Animation
    • Bake CD joints on export
    • PLA tracks to vertex cache
    • CD Skin to vertex cache
    • Deformed mesh animation to vertex cache
    • Clothilde to vertex cache

    Supported import elements:
    • CD Joints
    • CD Skin
    • CD Morph
    • Polygonal geometry
    • NURBS conversion to polygons
    • Cameras
    • Lights
    • Markers
    • Nulls
    • Animation
    • Vertex Cache to PLA

The Export command also has a Take Manager which will allow you to split up a scene’s animation into sections and save them in the fbx file as separate takes:

The Convert NURBS Surface option in the import dialog allows you to set the level of detail between Low, Medium and High:

By the way, I used this plugin during beta testing to import the Package Man rig, which I then converted to CD Tools:
