Finally the leopard drivers is out I thuoght….

When i try to start fcp, I get a message that say “minimum system checks”, and complain on my system. But i have a macpro 8core, 4g ram wich work nice until i installed leopard…then i had to uninstall aja lhe to run fcp.

But when i install the aja v.5.0 drivers it start to complain..I have reinstalled fcp and aja lhe..but same issue. Any ideas?

ya must have left your thinking cap somewhere else… or perhaps david W hit the nail on the head – is there any white foam on your collar?

the blurb at the top of the forum talks about leopard and CS3.
    OTOH itamar said
let’s hope…, that AJA will have their drivers ready for Premiere Pro.

perfectly logical statement, as the main point he was making has nothing to do with the blurb about leopard/adobe CS3 but is about AJA>PP

or am I missing something else?
    golly gosh

do a CLEAN install of Leopard- not an upgrade – that’s right – wipe off your hard drive, and fully reinstall the OS (not an upgrade) – a pain in the ass – absolutely – then load in FCP, and launch it, then load your AJA drivers. Then you will be in business.

Do you have the time to do this – NO
Do you have to do this – YES.

This is great, because I was afraid that I’d have nothing to do this weekend other than try to learn Color & Motion 3. Now it looks like I’ll be able to install new Kona drivers, more RAM, & replace my DVD burner to boot!

Oh, joy of joys! Wait! Do I hear violins?

upgrades are fine for consumers. I did that with all our laptops and iMacs. It’s the pro machines running pro-apps that you want to start with a clean install.

[walter biscardi] “upgrades are fine for consumers.”

I just heard a horror story of a family friend who bought a new mac laptop and took it to the genius bar to do the firewire transfer of all of her information to the new mac from her laptop (Migration Assistant). Well, due to that sweet Leopard bug that erases all information from both drives if the firewire transfer goes bad, she lost all of her info. Some of it she had backed up, but her contacts and email are gone forever. This was done at the Genius Bar, I thought I’d reiterate that. Funny(?) thing is her husband is a major IT dude, but does not speak OSX. I know, I know none of this would have happened to anyone on the Cow, but manure happens.

    Bummer.

That is definitely a bad deal. I’ve only used that tool once and it just seemed like my machine ran incredibly slow after doing that. So in the future I just carbon cloned by main drive and then used that to move stuff to the new computer.

But that is indeed a bad bug.
