Activity Forums VEGAS Pro New Advanced Selection Extension

Over the last few months there have been several requests for scripts with specific selection needs. It would be much better, of course, if Vegas had nice shiny buttons that could create a selection list that could cover every need… so I created an extension with those buttons.

IMPORTANT: I used Net Framework 3.5 (programmers will know why) so this will only work in Vegas 11 or higher.

You can get the zip file here.

As a side note does anyone use Internet Explorer anymore? To make the documentation compatible I had to chop up one of the images so IE did not choke. In the future I would love to ignore IE if at all possible.

Also I ran across a post on the internet once that explained how to force the Vegas scripting environment to use higher than Net Framework 2.0 for earlier versions of Vegas than 11. I can’t remember where I saw it and Google is no help anymore.

Matt, I’m not getting the Script to appear. I’m putting your files into

    C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 12.0\Script Menu

    Is that correct?

Looking at your very clear User Manual, it looks superb!

    Cheers

    Grazie

    To install:

Place the Vegas Application Extensions folder in Windows – My Documents. It is not a script but an extension.

As far as Net Framework goes what you personally have installed and what Vegas accesses are two different things. Up until Vegas 10 the script/extension environment could only access 2.0. With Vegas 11 it went to 3.5. There is a config file or property somewhere that tell Vegas what level to use but I can’t remember how it is done.

Matt thanks. It’s working as an Extension.
