I’m in the market for a new camera, I’m an entry level professional and I’ve been looking at a few different cameras like the Panasonic PV-GS250,
    suggestions? What’s good? I figure I’ll spend $600-900.

The one you suggested is not Prof. Grade Cam. (not even entry level) You need to spend ~$1500-2000 to be considered as “Prosumer” or “entry level” as you put it. So, having that said, you may then consider Canon GL2 or Sony VX2100. This is just my opinion.

Hummm, entry level professional?? What do you mean professional?
Prefessional is when you have expertice/experience of a determined field,
No matter what camera do you have. This is gained throught the time!
But by the way the GS 250 is not a good idea…never!
Sony VX 2100 is my recomendation to start with… but you w’d need more gear to do a decent job.(wireless mic, good fluid head tripod, lighting, etc)
Also some tutorials of how to manage all this equipment & how to cover your pretended events. Think around $3k plus will do the trick
    good luck

I like Panasonic – but the GS models are all strictly consumer, with little control over lens, white balance or aspect. You need to explore the DV PROLINE HERE to really get the kind of control you need for pro work. My favorite SD 3 chip in my arsenal now is my Panasonic DVC30 – it’s rugged and performs well.

I have used the PV-GS120 to film my fishing show for the last year and it had done well … There are a lot of things that I have had to work around, but all in all I give it a 90% and the PV-GS150 is
a good platform to start honing your skills … I just purchased a
AG-DVC 30 and if you can afford to go a bit more (1400 to 1700 on E-bay depending on the package) it’s well worth it … I would also check E-bay for the 150 and or 250 package … The difference between the two to me isn’t worth spending the extra money on the 250 … WILLIE
