Okay, I shot my test with the camera actually set to 30p. The interlacing issue disappeared when I imported the footage into Combustion. But now I have a less troubling but just as puzzling problem. The footage goes in and out of focus. It literally has one frame in focus and one out of focus consistently through the clip. It’s not a huge difference but when you’re dealing with tracking markers you can see things like minor focus variations very easily. I would attribute it to the combination of hand-held and autofocus except the uncannily consistent way its in focus for one frame and out of focus for one frame makes that seem unlikely. Anybody have an idea what it is?

    Thanks for any help.
